INTERNSHIP GOALS & OBJECTIVES 

                                                                                         

Goal #1 – Administrative

   Objectives 

 

Learn To Play Hockey:

• Maintain an open line of communication between myself, other coaches, parents, participants and Bird Arena administration.

• Distribute, collect, maintain and organize all equipment used in the LTPH program.

• Distribute, collect and keep records of all registrations for the LTPH program.

• Report weekly to Bird Arena manager meetings.

Bird Arena Manager:

• Report weekly to Bird Arena manager meetings.

Ohio University Division II Hockey:

• Create a budget, collect player fees, find revenue opportunities and oversee any financial spending.

• Organize team transportation, drivers, hotels and meals.

• Communicate with multiple school departments and oversee player’s academic eligibility.

• Contact other coaches and create the following season’s game schedule.

• Report weekly to Bird Arena manager meetings.

Athens Youth Hockey Association:

• Work directly with the AYHA registrar to ensure coaches are up to date on USA Hockey Certifications.

• Obtain potential coaches for the association.

• Report to AYHA board meetings.

 

Goal #2 – Supervisory

   Objectives 

 

Learn To Play Hockey:

• Oversee all hiring of coaches and directly supervise coaches in each program session.

Bird Arena Manager:

• Supervise the operation of special events at Bird Arena.

 

Ohio University Division II Hockey:

• Supervise players at practice, games and special events.

Athens Youth Hockey Association:

• Advise coaches on practice plans, evaluate coaches and give feedback.

 

Goal # 3 - Program Planning

   Objectives

 

Learn To Play Hockey:

• Create an interactive learning environment that is fun, challenging, social and safe for all participants.

• Plan, schedule and implement weekly program sessions and special events.

Bird Arena Manager:

• Assist in organizing and the pre-operation of special events at Bird Arena.

Ohio University Division II Hockey:

• Produce and coach on ice practice plans, team systems and off ice video sessions.

• Oversee the day to day operation and game day operation of the team.

Athens Youth Hockey Association:

• Produce on ice practice plans and assist coaches with on ice practice.

 

Goal #4 - Community/Public Relations

   Objectives

 

Learn To Play Hockey:

• Work directly with the Athens Youth Hockey Association to build numbers in the association and help the association grow.

Ohio University Division II Hockey:

• Obtain opportunities for the players to give back to the community.

• Be an upstanding and active representative of Ohio University within the Tri-State Collegiate Hockey League and the American Collegiate Hockey Association.

Athens Youth Hockey Association:

• Assist in special events

 

Goal #5 – Other

   Objectives

 

Bird Arena Manager:

• Learn the operation procedures for the Olympia and become proficient in operation.

• Gain knowledge of ice maintenance.

• Gain knowledge of facility operations.
